I was invited to hold a workshop at Länsstyrelsen, the County Administrative Board, in Örebro. Which I felt was very suiting because they cover several topics in their work that I also like to focus on in my artistry, such as nature and climate.
Therefor I decided to focus the class on painting animals with a twist of surrealism. I think It is important to challenge the imagination regularly, but in order to apply this to painting you need to be aware of some of the basic techniques. Which is why I always try to cover a little bit of that in my classes too, more or less depending on the group, time and intentions of the course.
Let's have a sneak peek into the evening!
There was such a happy atmosphere in this group that opened up for a lot of creativity. There are several things I appreciate with arriving in a group of colleagues who already created a bond together. One is that I can tell there is less pressure on feeling like you have to create a masterpiece, and there's room for laughing together if we're creating something goofy (which is the entire point!). The other one is how quickly I, as an instructor, feel included in the group. That openness and solidarity is always very valuable to me!
